It is always so hard to believe that the end of the season comes around so quickly! Both Coaches Hollinger are really looking forward to seeing everyone at the races and the banquet.

Here is some information on all three of these things:

District meet:

• Thursday 11/4
• Girl's race 10:am, boy's race 10:45
• Place-Ronnie Van Zant park/ Green Cove Springs
• Admission: $5
• Athlete's traveling: Julia Neal ,Emily Westlake, Erika Daugherty, Morgan Brown, Kailyn Allen, Sierra Holsbeke ,Marta Olmos, Savannah Branch, Kylee Skidmore, Caroline Perry, Lillian Jones, Gigi Edwards, Ema Olmos, Garrett Westlake,
  Jordan Brown, Derek Bolser, David Dolan, Joe Janson, Brett Gerhart, Matt VanArnam, Rashad Harding, and Triston Horton
• Bus leaves PK 7:00am and returns between 2-2:30am. Athletes should bring $$$ for lunch.

Regional Meet info:

Hi Everyone,

• High School Girls 9:00am

The bus leave PK at:

• Be at school at 5:00am-we will pull out no later than 5:15 to allow for plenty of travel time.

First Whole Squad Meet

Hello Blue Wave XC Fans!

Both Coaches Hollinger are looking forward to being reunited with all the awesome runners, coaches and PK families!

Here is what you need to know about our travel schedule:

• Student athletes need to be in front of the gym ready to load the bus at 5:30am

• Girls race is at 10:00am and boys race is at 10:30am. They are running varsity and JV together.

• Athletes should bring: a light snack for the bus ride up (no dairy please), hydration supplies and money if they are riding the bus home because we will stop for lunch.

• Directions: The meet is located at Tom Brown Park Tallahasee. Here is the address that mapquest gives: 501 Easterwood Drive, Tallahassee, FL 32301

Time to race!

Hi XC Fans!

We are just days away from the varsity season opener meet. The following athletes have made the traveling squad for the first meet: Julia Neal, Morgan Brown, Kailyn Allen, Emily Westlake, Erika Daugherty, Sierra Holsbeke, Savannah Branch, Garrett Westlake, Jordan Brown, Derek Bolser, David Dolan, Brett Gerhardt and Joe Janson. A detailed email will be sent to their parents with information on the overnight travel and meet details. Go Blue Wave!

JV, Select and Varsity will all race at the Lincoln Invitational in Tallahassee on 9/18. I will update the blog with travel info for that meet next weekend but I can tell you get ready to wake up really early!

Announcement:

• $50 Fair share is due now. Athletes will not receive their team t shirt or be able to travel until this fee is paid. Please email me if you need to make arrangements at: ahollinger@oh-institute.org

Practice Begins!

Hi Everyone,

Practice officially begins the first day of school 8/23/10. Student athletes will only be permitted to participate if they have both a current FHSAA physical form and a parent consent form in to Coach Barrett. There are no exceptions to this policy.

Here is the practice schedule:

JV:

• Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday meet in Coach Hazan's room at 2:55pm for practice.

• Wednesday is a rest day no practice

• Study Hall is Tuesday and Thursday after school from 2:55-3:30pm in Coach Hazen's room-all athletes are required to be at study hall!

• Meets-please see the schedule posted on the side of the blog

Varsity and select: (Julia, Morgan, Kylee, Erika, Kailyn, Emily, Sierra, Savannah, Maya, Garrett, Jordan, Derek, Rashad, David, Joe, Brett, and Cam) This list is subject to change throughout the season.

• Monday-Saturday 6 day a week practice schedule (varsity and select atheltes are expected to be at all practices or commnicate withteir head coach, Mr. or Mrs. H, to be excused).

• Meet every day in Coach Hazen's room after school. Saturday practice is at SFCC.

• Study Hall Monday and Wednesday in Coach Hazen's room from 2:55-3:30pm

• Meets-see schedule posted on the side of the blog

Last, something to keep in mind about our team is that squads change throughout the season based on racing times and athletes that show a dedication to practice. If you are not on the varsity/select squad at this time it does not mean that you will never be on it this season. Every race we will set times for how to make the select squad and to make varsity you have to have one of the fastest 7 times of the day on race day.
